Guiding Principles

  • Promote cooperative and consistent regulation.
  • Promote investment in infrastructure.
  • Promote an efficient, effective and accountable government while maintaining stable government policies.
  • Promote the health of Oregon's economy and business community.

Board Directive

The Board directs the Transportation Council to support and develop legislation that promotes the efficient movement of goods and services and seeks cooperative regulation through local and state governments.

Issues

Issues addressed by the Transportation Council include funding, ODOT reform and accountability and interstate/intrastate rules and regulations.

How We Work

The AOI Transportation Council functions much like a task force. It is called into action at the request of the AOI Chair when issues arise. Issues arise usually from the Board of Directors, but occasionally from the membership. The Council works through technical issues, develops public policy recommendations for the Board of Directors and serves as the Board's technical advisor for infrastructure concerns.
